"The Hobbit" Gives On-Set Glimpse

Calling all "Lord of the Rings" fans, director Peter Jackson has released some new photos from his upcoming movie "The Hobbit: Part 1."

In the shots that he posted on his Facebook page earlier this week, the trilogy director appears in the home of a Hobbit while seeming to have dropped about 100lbs.

According to IMDB, "The Hobbit: Part 1" involves Bilbo Baggins, a Hobbit, who journeys to the Lonely Mountain accompanied by a group of dwarves to reclaim a treasure taken from them by the dragon Smaug.

Saoirse Ronan, Cate Blanchett, Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom, Martin Freeman, among many others, will star in the upcoming adventure/fantasy due out December 19, 2012.
