Martin Sheen Talks Troubled Son Charlie

As Charlie Sheen has continued his crazy antics his father Martin has watched him painfully, hoping he'll finally wake up.

The "West Wing" actor told press that the former "Two and a Half Men" star is still "emotionally" a child.

"Because when you're addicted, you don't grow emotionally. So when you get clean and sober you're staring at the moment you started using drugs or alcohol. You're emotionally crippled."

Martin continued, "I know what hell he's living in. I've had psychotic episodes in public. One of them was on camera – the opening scene ofApocalypse Now. ... I know what Charlie is going through. And when you do something like that, that is out of control, that's the most difficult thing. You have to have courage."

Papa Sheen added, "Faith can help all of us. Addiction is the dark side. It's a reflection of despair. And it's fed by all the other negativity."

Meanwhile, Charlie has big plans for his 21-city "Torpedo of Truth" tour that is set to begin next month. According to FOX News, he says he'll "riff like an artist" for 80 minutes in a "wild ride of highs and lows and dark and light and laughter and being surprised."
